In Virginia, All water operators need a certain amount of continuing education hours every other year depending on which license they hold. Below is a list of the hours needed:
- Class 1 & 2 – 20 hours, with a minimum of 5 hours on Utility Management
- Class 3 – 20 hours
- Class 4 – 16 hours
- Class 5 – 8 hours
- Class 6 – 4 hours
The license renewal deadline is February 28 in even-numbered years for Wastewater Operators and in odd-numbered years for Waterworks Operators.
